Commentary Par XXXI 7

As we have seen (C.Par.XXX.64-66), Virgil's verb (insidere) for what the bees do at least suggests that, more than settling on the blossoms, they enter them.  Thus Dante here follows Virgil faithfully, if others seem to believe he does not (see Bosco/Reggio [DDP Bosco.Par.XXXI.7]).
