Commentary Purg XXII 25-26

As Benvenuto (DDP Benvenuto.Purg.XXII.25-27) says, 'Statius now smiles at Virgil's mistake just as Dante had smiled, earlier [[Purg XXI 109]], at Statius's mistake.'  Statius is also obviously allowed to be pleased to have been guilty of prodigality rather than avarice, no matter how seriously Dante took the latter sin.
