Commentary Purg V 117

Restoring a meaning offered in Benvenuto's commentary but perhaps never revisited and arguing against the scholarly exertions of others, Pertile (Pert.1996.1), pp. 121-26, presents a strong case for the Tuscan form of the verb intingere's past participle, intinto in its regular form, but also found as intento (darkened).  We have accepted Pertile's reading in our translation.
